Well, it wasn't exactly an interstate trip from Tillamook up to Emerald. More like a coast sightseeing trip, and a "day-off-from-racing" visit to a relative's vacation place on the Key Peninsula. Note to Washingtonians: That whole Olympic Peninsula is seriously overpopulated. Seriously.
Ft. Clatsop recreation, where Lewis and Clark spent their western winter.
Impressive bridge over the Columbia at Astoria.
Mt Rainier peeking out.
Away they go, Washington Oaks!
And finally thank you very, VERY much, forever and ever, to the honest Emd fan who found my lost/forgotten-on-the-bench wallet and turned it in totally intact after that race ... whew. I had these frantic visions of being stranded in Seattle with $0 excdpt pocket change and no cards or ID and half a tank of gas. Measures will have to be taken. Stern measures.
